Sound Familiar?
Confused by HMRC forms?
SA100, SA103, SA105 — it feels like a foreign language. One wrong box and you could overpay or trigger an investigation.
Always leaving it to the last minute?
The 31 January deadline creeps up every year. Then it's a panic to find receipts, chase records, and file on time.
Paying too much for an accountant?
Accountants charge £300-£800+ for a basic Self Assessment. You shouldn't need to remortgage your house to file a tax return.
Not sure what you can claim?
Allowable expenses, capital allowances, marriage allowance, working from home relief — most people miss hundreds in legitimate deductions.
TaxStats solves all of this.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I actually need to file a Self Assessment?+
You need to file if you're self-employed, a landlord, earn over £100,000, have untaxed income (dividends, savings interest above the allowance), or HMRC has sent you a notice to file. If you're unsure, sign up for a free account and we'll tell you.
What's the deadline?+
For the 2024/25 tax year: 31 October 2025 for paper returns, 31 January 2026 for online returns. Late filing triggers an automatic £100 penalty, with further penalties after 3, 6, and 12 months.
Can I file previous years' tax returns?+
Yes. You can file up to 4 years late through TaxStats. We'll guide you through the process and help you understand any penalties or interest that may apply.
What if I have multiple income sources?+
No problem. TaxStats handles employment, self-employment, property, foreign income, capital gains, and dividends — all in one return. Our AI figures out which supplementary pages you need.
Is my data safe?+
Yes. Bank-grade encryption (AES-256), UK/EU hosted infrastructure, ICO registered. We never share your data with third parties. You can delete your account and all data at any time.
What if HMRC has questions about my return?+
We're an HMRC Recognised Agent. If HMRC opens an enquiry, we can deal with them on your behalf. Our AI can even help draft responses to HMRC correspondence.
